If there's one thing the Greeks are good at, that's having a good time!!

If there's one thing the Greeks are good at, that's having a good time!!

There's nothing quite like photographing the beautifully kept tradition & ceremony of a Greek wedding...

(more soon... right now it's almost 1am and I've been sat in front of this computer for over 12 hours today... I need a break! ...and sleep!)
A few weeks ago I went to Cyprus to shoot my cousin's wedding. It was an amazing wedding and I was incredibly pleased to be able to document Nick & Anna's wedding as I adore them both to bits!
Lindsey (a great friend & photographer who assisted me for the wedding) & I started the day at Anna's home for some preparation shots. We then went to Nick's home for the traditional violin & bouzouki playing whilst the groom was shaved by his uncles, dressed (shirt, tie, jacket) by his best man & then blessed & wished good luck with incense & the passing around the waist of a red cloth three times. We then went back to Anna's home where pretty much the same thing happens (except for the shaving part obviously!)
In the next couple of blog articles I'll post up a small montage of some of the shots Lindsey & I took thoughout the day.

The rest of the story to follow shortly... big, fat Greek church coming up next!
Last weekend, as you will have already noticed below, I had the amazing opportunity to be shooting a wedding where the bride wore a RED wedding dress! The sun just peeked around the clouds for about an hour or so during which time Peter & Dawn were married outside (unusual for the UK!) at Offley Place which was a beautiful setting. I was joined by Mike Patterson, all the way from Ireland, who second shot with me and did a great job of putting up with me & capturing some fantastic candids which I hope he posts on his blog (hint, hint!). Thanks for your assistance through-out the day!
...for a red wedding...

(...and turning 37 :P)
I shot a wedding in Cyprus last weekend, with my friend Lindsey, and I just started properly editing it yesterday. There's still a long way to go before I've waded through a couple of thousand shots from the wedding & the "day after" shoot (probably a total of 18 hours of shooting) but I'm so excited about the photos that I can't wait to post them so here's some from the "day after" session. Wedding day pics to follow sometime soon!
I got round to enrolling Paul as a member in the SWPP last month... (yeah, I have to do everything around here!) ... and he entered the SWPP competition and snagged two merits on his first entry. Here are the shots he got his merits for:

(sorry to those on RSS - I'm just reposting these as the pixelation on the auto-post image option on my blog is starting to bug me so I'm going the manual html route!)
