40 feet of Possessions

Yesterday we packed up our entire home in a 40 ft container. It was a pretty strange feeling seeing everything we own crammed into the back of this huge cavity and then our car boxing it all in. I guess it just made me think that possessions really don't amount to much at the end of it all...

The most important things are still with us... Tyson, our adorable dog who is highly confused at the moment, and of course, our D3s!

A HUGE thank you to everyone that turned up to help us load the container on Saturday. It wasn't an easy job and yet we were finished in a couple of hours. We really do appreciate everyone's time and physical effort. Thank you once again!

One Last Thing

One final thing to pack... the MAC!

The G5 & my beautiful 30" screen are getting boxed up tomorrow - it almost feels like someone needs to surgically remove my fingers from the keyboard and my butt from the office chair!

On a more serious note, please be aware that we'll be very limited with internet access for the next month or so and there is likely to be a small delay before we reply to our emails. We appreciate your understanding on this matter.

UK Landscape Photographer of the Year

Paul won the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year at the SWPP awards on Sunday evening!

Paul loves to shoot landscape photography so it was a great honor for him to receive an award and to have his work recognized.

We also both received a merit each in the 20x16 competition with the two images below.

James Blunt Overload!

Here are some of the shots from my first stint in a photographer's pit at a gig! It really wasn't easy holding a D3 & 70-200mm lens steady and being just a few feet away from James!

The D3 performed perfectly. I mainly shot on 2500 & 3200 iso and although everyone is sick to death of hearing how well this camera works at high ISO's I'll add my wholehearted confirmation to that! Other than the first shot (which actually didn't really need it), none of these images have had noise reduction software run on them.

Leavin' Las Vegas - shooting session for photographers

Just a little head's up ... if you're a photographer visiting the WPPI convention, be sure to stay for the last day - Thursday 20th March - as we're scheduling a photoshoot in Red Rock Canyon featuring some great photographers and a group of models.

The shoot is a collaboration between www.dontboxusin.com & www.trashthedress.com and there will be room for about 30 photographers on the shoot. We'll be announcing more details and booking information shortly.

Paul & I will be there along with Mark Eric, Tana Huffman, Jason Domingues, Anne Ruthmann, Mike Fulton & John Michael Cooper.

A huge shout out to Tana who's been a great help with organizing details over in Las Vegas. Thanks for everything & I'm looking forward to meeting you!!

More info coming soon on Don't Box Us In.

I got it!

Confirmed: I have a press pass for tomorrow's James Blunt gig in London! First two songs, no flash ... piece of cake when you're shooting a D3! This will really be the perfect way to test this camera's ISO range.

It's a dog's life!

Whilst Paul & I have been busy packing, Tyson has been busy sleeping! It's so true when they say "it's a dog's life"! Let's just say, I spoil Tyson a little too much and yes, that is our bed he's commandeered!

As you can see, we've been otherwise occupied with packing boxes, boxes & more boxes and there is still MORE packing to be done. It feels like it's endless and I've realized I need to get rid of things on a more regular basis ... although Paul might argue I shouldn't be buying as many things in the first place!

The spare bedroom looks like a bomb has hit it...

And my lovely dining room has turned into this...

Apologies for the lack of blog posts but we'll hopefully be back to blogging more regularly in a few weeks' time when we're settled in Cyprus!

Forward in time
