Lesya - Neon Boneyard, Las Vegas

While we were in Vegas we booked the Neon Boneyard for an hour along with some great friends & photographers - Mark Eric, Jason Cohen, Tana Huffman & Ross Tanner. Ross's wife, Lesya, very kindly modeled for us and we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful or cooperative model. Sadly, the hour flew by and I could easily have spent much longer there!

road-Trippin-Pics

With over 32gb of images to wade through you can imagine it's taking me a while to get around to all the photos we took while we were away but here are a few pics from Valley of Fire & a very lonely stretch of Route 66 between Seligman & Kingsman and this great little place called the Hackberry General Store which was pretty much everything I expected from a general store on Route 66!

The proprietor of the store was just leaving as we arrived and I just managed to get myself a much needed Red Bull and a shot of his awesome Red Corvette before he locked it away. I wish we'd stayed longer at the store to take photos but unfortunately for us we've been watching too many Chain-Saw-Massacre-type movies and after a big ol' noisy truck drove up, stopped for a minute and some hick town guy stared at us long and hard and drove off we thought we'd better get going!

California-Nevada-Utah-Arizona-Nevada-California

Paul & I are home and I've got itchy feet. I hate being back on an island and it almost feels claustrophobic after the vastness of America. We arrived in California after about 20+ hours of traveling and started driving out towards Nevada.

If you've never been to Las Vegas, it's almost impossible to quite describe the Vegas experience! Gaudy is the first word that comes to mind but, looking past the lights, smoke & noise, it was great fun spending time in this extravagant oasis! The trip to Vegas was made all the more special because of the people we met throughout the week we were there. The list as actually pretty huge and I'm almost certain to miss someone out so I'm not even going to try to reel the names off!

Once everyone left Vegas it suddenly got very quiet but it was time for Paul to start shooting some landscape work. We visited the Valley of Fire which was stunning and Red Rock Canyon, which was disappointing in comparison. We then started our road-trip up to Zion National Park, then onto Bryce Canyon (WOW!), Monument Valley, Grand Canyon, back to Vegas and then to LA where we got to see a couple of friends and the very awesome Paul Freeman playing at the Hotel Cafe.

I'll post photos from the trip over the next week or so...

Forward in time
